Born to help

So I'm in the gym doing squats with a guy that's asking me tons of questions about diet and exercise. He wants to lean out and he was doing his squats wrong and could have hurt himself. I help him with his form and gave him a meal plan. A woman next to us over heard my diet tips and started asking question. She eventually finds out I'm not a personal trainer and a hairstylist. She starts asking questions about her hair and I end up giving her a full consultation, also solving her main problem. As a result of ths training session I have two new clients I will help in two different ways,, but now I still have to go to the gym again later to really work out.
It was a good day.

She Had Beautiful Hair

A woman came to me 2 years ago with beautiful hair, but did not like the way her hairstylist styled it. So I offered some suggestions and thus began a wonderful relationship. Then the economy went crazy and her hours got cut almost in half. I saw her once a week, then once a month, then once every six weeks, than occationaly. In between she would go to the neighborhood salons and go to the drug store to purchase products. When she did come to me it was in shame because of something she did to her hair, or the wrong product that was used, or something they did around her way. Her hair started to shed and break. I explained to her why I do what I do. The relationships I have with some of my clients go back 25 years. I am here to make sure you look good. Don't be afraid to call me just because you can't pay. Information from me is free. I will tell you what to use and wat not to use. What products to buy, and what not to try in your hair. I will even tell you how to let someone else do your hair.
Now her hair is beautiful again!

Do your Hair Homework

In a world were money is tight people will do whatever it takes to get your money. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to separate you fom yor cash that day, or put you in a situation were you have to come back for repeated visits. Make sure that you educate yourself on the stylist that your seeing or plan to see. Check their history, see what people say about them. During a consultation make sure they are patient and don't seem to get irritated at your questions. Remember, most of the time you get what you pay for in life, that includes great service, patient confident professional answers and options. Don't settle for less.

Why I do what I do.

Hairstyling has been a blessing to me because I can release all of my creativety, and help people who need uplifting at the same time. My clients come to me broken, shatterd, disappointed, or sometimes just simply boared, and I get to give them the style or color they want show them how to take care of their hair, what products to use and do all of this in a time frame they can't believe. I am a stickler for time and I know people have things to do. I recently did a photo shoot for Essence Magazine March 2010 that gave me an opportunity to show readers how to change  one style three different ways and that's what I do every day.
The most rewarding part of what I do is training my assistant to do what I do. Not just to cut and color , business, finance, organization, client care, and how to listen to details.
In the coming weeks I will be giving tips on health and hair care. This way I can help as many people as possible. Sometimes the smallest change can impact someones life in a huge way.
Check me out every week, and tell your freinds
